PENGARUH KUALITAS TIDUR TERHADAP KONSENTRASI BELAJAR DIMODERASI OLEH JENIS MOTIVASI AKADEMIK PADA SANTRI MADRASAH ALIYAH PONDOK PESANTREN DI KABUPATEN BONE
Abstract
Students in Islamic boarding schools have busy or lots of activities and less sleep duration, so their concentration in learning is less than optimal. Poor sleep quality causes decreased concentration and learning outcomes. However, students with high academic motivation will have high concentration in learning even with poor sleep quality. This study aims to examine the moderating role of academic motivation on the influence of sleep quality on students’ learning concentration at MA Islamic boarding school in Bone Regency. This study uses a quantitative method. The research subjects were 184 students. The sampling used proportionate stratified random sampling. The measuring instruments used were the scale of learning concentration, sleep quality, and academic motivation. Data analysis used hierarchical multiple regression. The results of the study reveal that sleep quality affected learning concentration (β = 0.154, p=0.005). There is an interaction effect of sleep quality and intrinsic motivation on learning concentration (β = 0.704; p=0.001), the interaction effect of extrinsic motivation is insignificant (β = -0.236; p = 0.238), and a significant interaction effect of amotivation (β = -0.205; p=0.009). The implication of the study is that good sleep quality and high academic motivation can improve students' learning concentration, so this study is expected to be a source of information for students to improve sleep quality, increase academic motivation and learning concentration.
