EVALUASI PERAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MEWUJUDKAN SEKOLAH BERBUDAYA LITERASI DI SMAN 4 SELAYAR
Abstract
This research evaluates the role of school principals in realizing a literacy-cultured school at SMAN 4 Selayar using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through research instruments in the form of Likert scale questionnaires and in-depth interviews involving 23 respondents consisting of teachers and administrative staff, based on eight dimensions of literacy culture. The results of the analysis show that the role of school principals in all dimensions (leadership, implementation of literacy programs, support for teachers and students, formation of a literate school climate, collaboration with stakeholders, impact and success) is categorized as "High". This shows that school principals have a very good role in realizing a literacy-cultured school. However, the relatively high standard deviation in several dimensions indicates variations in respondent perceptions. The research suggests increasing collaboration with stakeholders to expand the impact of literacy culture in schools. This research provides important implications for the development of literacy programs and the improvement of the role of school principals in creating a literacy-cultured school environment.
