KARAKTERISTIK MORFOLOGI JEWAWUT (Setaria italica L.) INDONESIA
Abstract
Jewawut (Setaria italica L.) merupakan tanaman serealia fungsional yang dapat tumbuh dengan baik di daerah beriklim tropis dan subtropis, termasuk Indonesia. Morfologi tumbuhan relevan dengan hampir semua disiplin ilmu biologi, seperti genetika, fisiologi, ekologi, biologi evolusi, dan sistematika tumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami struktur morfologi tamanan jewawut. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif morfologi berdasarkan International Board for Plant Genetic Resources (IBPGR) untuk Setaria italica. Struktur morfologi tanaman jewawut dimulai dari organ akar, batang, pelepah daun, daun, bunga, dan biji. Morfologi tanaman yang diamati terdiri dari karakter kualitatif dan karakter kuantitatif. Morfologi tanaman jewawut berperan penting dalam identifikasi dan klasifikasikan tanaman, membantu memahami berbagai aspek ekologi tanaman dalam program pemuliaan tanaman serta adaptasi struktural tanaman jewawut terhadap lingkungannya.
