EFEKTIFITAS SHOULDER SUPPORT UNTUK MENGURANGI NYERI PADA NYERI BAHU PADA PEKERJA KOMPUTER
Abstract
Shoulder pain is a common complaint among computer workers due to prolonged static posture and repetitive activities. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of shoulder support in reducing shoulder pain among computer workers in Karanganyar Regency. A one-group pretest-posttest design was used, with 50 computer workers experiencing shoulder pain as the study sample. Pain levels were measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before and after using shoulder support for two weeks. The results showed a significant reduction in pain levels following the intervention, with a mean VAS score of 4.30 ± 0.61 before using the shoulder support, which decreased to 2.26 ± 0.77 afterward. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-test revealed a significant difference (t = 19.110, p-value < 0.001), with an effect size of Cohen’s d = 2.703, indicating a strong effect. The correlation between pre- and post-intervention pain levels was also significant (r = 0.431, p < 0.001). These findings suggest that shoulder support can be an effective solution for reducing shoulder pain in computer workers. Implementing this device as part of an ergonomic program may enhance worker comfort and productivity. Further research is needed to explore long-term effects and the influence of individual factors on effectiveness.
