TUGU GERABAH: STRATEGI MEMBANGUN DESA DAN MEMPERTAHANKAN WARISAN BUDAYA

Abstract

The cultural literacy of the younger generation is very low. In this context, all parties must strive to foster and introduce ancestral cultures to their children and grandchildren, so that these cultures are not lost and forgotten. Village governments, as the lowest-level government entity with direct contact with the community, need to develop strategies to ensure that development impacts the preservation and maintenance of national culture. Research shows that one alternative solution is to build pottery monuments at strategic points in the village. The presence of pottery monuments at strategic points in the village will be easily visible to all residents. This way, without having to be taught, the community, especially the younger generation, will recognize and understand their ancestors' cultural heritage and will be expected to care about preserving and maintaining it. The research method used was library research, a method conducted through dialogue with various literature reviews related to the research theme. In conclusion, building pottery monuments at strategic points in the village can be an alternative strategy for preserving and maintaining the nation's cultural heritage. Village governments are strongly encouraged to take the initiative to build pottery monuments in their villages.
