Potensi Azolla pinnata Sebagai Sumber Protein Hijauan Pada Ternak Itik Petelur

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi Azolla pinnata sebagai sumber protein hijauan dalam pakan itik petelur serta pengaruhnya terhadap performa dan kualitas telur. Azolla pinnata merupakan tanaman air berprotein tinggi (25–35%) yang mudah dibudidayakan dan berpotensi menggantikan kedelai sebagai bahan pakan lokal bernilai ekonomis. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua bulan di Labocing, Desa Tappale, Kecamatan Libureng, Kabupaten Bone dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) lima perlakuan level Azolla pinnata, yaitu P1 (0%), P2 (5%), P3 (10%), P4 (15%), dan P5 (20%), masing-masing dengan empat ulangan dan tiga ekor itik Mojosari umur 24 minggu per ulangan. Pakan disusun secara iso-protein (18%) dan iso-energi (2.600 kkal/kg). Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, Hen Day Production (HDP), bobot telur, serta kualitas telur (indeks putih dan kuning, Haugh unit, warna kuning, dan ketebalan kerabang). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan level Azolla pinnata berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi pakan, bobot badan, bobot telur, dan kualitas telur, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap HDP. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada level 20% (P5) yang menghasilkan performa dan kualitas telur tertinggi. Disimpulkan bahwa Azolla pinnata dapat digunakan hingga level 20% dalam pakan itik petelur sebagai sumber protein lokal yang murah dan berkelanjutan
