FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN SKABIES PADA SANTRI DI PONDOK PESANTREN MUHAMMADIYAH DARUL ARQAM GOMBARA MAKASSAR
Abstract
Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by sarcoptes scabiei (a type of mite), characterized by itching, especially at night, and transmitted through direct or indirect contact with shared bedding, clothing, or towels used by someone with scabies. Dormitories or Islamic boarding schools are places at risk for scabies because they are densely populated. This study is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of 520 students, while the sample consisted of 226 people using simple random sampling. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p=0.000) and personal hygiene (p=0.001) with the incidence of scabies. The conclusion of this study is that students at the Muhammadiyah Darul Arqam Gombara Islamic Boarding School in Makassar have adequate knowledge and personal hygiene. The recommendation of this study is that although the students already have a good percentage, there is a need for continued guidance to improve their knowledge, especially regarding scabies.
